I'm extremely excited to bring you a very special creative evening where you will learn two new skills in one! I'm teaming up with with the talented florist, Hazel Gardiner Design to bring you an evening of botanical fun in celebration of British Flower Week. You'll be block printing stationery and making your own wild floral crowns, all inspired by the gorgeous summer blooms and foliage. Join us at Hazel's stunning home for a leisurely evening full to the brim with creativity, good food and great conversations.
Hazel Gardiner is inspired by interiors and fashion, she creates stunning floral displays for events, magazines and weddings. Using seasonal British flowers and greenery Hazel will guide you through the process of making your very own beautiful flower and foliage crown to wear all summer long (they're perfect for weddings and festivals). Don't want a crown? Use it as a decorative wreath instead! You'll also be able to use your botanical crowns to inspire your block print designs.
Nancy Straughan has designed patterns for clients like Marks & Spencer, Tommy Hilfiger, Debenhams and Graham and Brown Wallpaper. In the class, you'll start with your design on paper, carve it into printmaking rubber to create a stamp, and finally print onto a product of your choice such as greetings cards, tea towels or tote bags. Throughout each step, Nancy will guide you through the block printing process so you can easily learn how to block print onto almost anything! Don't worry if you're not creative, Nancy will bring along templates to help you design your printing block
You’ll finish the evening winding down with a drink or two and great conversation. Can you think of a better way to spend a Thursday?
